前天台北時報社論開頭第一句是:
How disappointing it was to see British Foreign Secretary
David Miliband on Wednesday follow in the footsteps of French
President Nicolas Sarkozy and publicly oppose the planned referendum
on UN membership using the name "Taiwan."

請問最後一行的 using the name "Taiwan" 中的 "using" 的主詞是什麼?
如果是與 oppose 的主詞一樣,(意即主詞是 David Miliband)句子結構是對,
但文義顯然不符.
如果 "using" 的主詞是 the planned referendum, 但是 referendum 又不是人,
怎麼能 use 呢?
