請問為什麼不是用maintaining呢?

請問為什麼不是用maintaining呢?
因為這個字就是這樣用。如果S require 後面沒有其他受詞你可以隨便加，但是
如果是S require Sbd 後面還要加東西，通常都是to V。你可以自己查字典看看。

簡單的看法是 -ing forms 通常表達的是: 某狀態

maintaining a normal blood pressure. 保持正常血壓

maintaining a low profile. 保持低調

a sleeping baby. 熟睡中的寶寶


to-infinitive 表達的是: 目的, 目標的.

to-不定詞通常被認為是前面動詞的受詞. 例如:

法律名詞: failure to maintain 疏于保持 没有保持

The baby wants to sleep. 寶寶要睡覺

We stopped to talk. 我們停下在做的事, 以便談話
