simply use the word: Dead~

Point at a non-functioning machine (computer) and say:

It is dead..It is not working. It is down. [These are all present tense
because they describe the current condition.]

It crashed. [This is in the past tense because it describes a past event.]

If you are talking about one computer, remember to use an appropriate
"counter": this computer...a computer...her computer.

If you are talking about what usually happens, you should use:

I hate computers. They crash all the time. They never work. They go down
all the time. They die without warning. [Must use 'plural' to talk about
computers in general.]
