I think it also indicates that it was the plan for him eventually
become prime minister. Perhaps he went through training, etc.

我認為這部分就是作"introduce"解. 當然我不熟印度政治史, 只知道拉吉夫
甘地最後也是被暗殺的(1988年?). 如果他當初也是進入國會一段時間才被推
出為首相, 而不是一進去就被推上去. 那麼"introduce"就滿合乎實情了.
