Head for or Head to

Is it "head for" or "head to"?

Or are both considered grammatical, yet different in meaning?

Is it "head for" or "head to"?

if you mean going toward some place, "head for" is much more
common. Scarce for me to read about "head to" with head as
verb. But, still, you would find things like this:

I used to think that "head for" was the only option.

However, I hear "head to" time to time nowadays.

I guess it's all about the changing of language.
